Baby brains

I have taken to using the term, baby brains, to house short attention spans and unknown bouts of short term memory. Not that there is such a founded claim to have the condition when you are pregnant.

But since I sent out my maternity leave notice yesterday, the short attention span to things has been especially pronounced. This isn’t helping the style guide which I’m trying to write for Brother at the moment and it’s so extensive this time that it’s really boring me out.

I got another webby this year!

This was one neglected baby when it was dumped on to me. Somehow I get to nurse sick babies back to health like the Hilton banners. Luckily it grew up well, and now I’m working on the styleguide to this baby so that it can live well on its own.

Can’t sleep again

Couldn’t sleep, even though I feel like I had a long day. So I stayed up and finish the last 10 pieces of 58 feature logos for Brother product pages. A slow end to the work day after fussing on an eDM mockup for adidas.

The adidas Me Time facebook application was the first project developed during the pregnancy of my baby girl. Through the morning sickness, exhaustion from hormonal changes, and sometimes the occasional depression, I art directed and designed this project. I still remember sitting thru briefings and planning, stuffing Post cereal into myself to stay sane and fight the constant nausea.

I’ll probably get to use very little of the exercise activities in the application, but it’ll sure be fun to plan and tag all those exercises after the baby is out. Going to plan to put golf back into my schedule, and bring my little girl to watch her daddy play, and maybe take turns with daddy while I throw some swings at the range

Besides the Facebook application, I also designed a blog widget that imports a week’s worth of activities from the calendar, sharing it with the blogosphere.
