I wanna bake

For someone who has hardly baked much in her entire life, I’m suddenly very attracted to getting my fingers dirty, buying baking ware, and yes an oven. Not sure my microwave will do the job since it’s cheap and we had only wanted to warm up food in the microwave. Jeez I feel lazy to dig up the manual for the microwave oven to see what it can do either. But I so wanna bake!
I’m dreaming of muffins, tarts and cakes to celebrate and share with my lil Joie. I had a weird thought when I woke up this morning of another name, like Constance or Sicilly. No idea why, and not sure they even meant anything to my Joie which I rationalized to be our Joy in our lives.

Over the weekend, I got so overwhelmed by the handmade craft items for babies and little girls, that there was this irresistible urge to hunt down materials and make my own. I was in esty, craft zines, on-line ribbon shops, and fabric shops sourcing for materials to make little bows, hair clip-pies, and taggies for my little girl. The whole exercise looks incredible expensive, if I know myself well enough, and I had collected loads of these materials before in my youth, the process of putting things together will be short-lived by the other things I had to do in my life, unless it is a full-time en devour. I wanted to buy grosgrain ribbons, coloured buttons, felt and printed fabrics, the list goes on.
Things that I found incredibly cute to do:
The Long Thread’s Heart Clip-pies
Hair Clip-pies from Paper Seed
Buttercup bag from Made by Rae
Felt Purse from Paper-and-string

For some reason, I’ve been awfully attracted to getting a stuff animal for my baby girl. I know it’ll probably be a germs cesspool later, but the little ribbons and buttons look like really neat sensory items, than just any old stuff animal.
Crafted from a mixture of tactile fabrics including corduroy, cotton , jersey, flannel, velour, satin and felt, these new friends will liven up the nursery and help to develop baby’s skills with their fun activities and sounds.
They each have many playful activities, including neighing or woofing, a mirror to play peek-a-boo, rings and soft hanging stars, hearts and creatures to chew on and swing about, ribbons to suck and numbers to count. Chimes, squeaks and rattles add to the surprises. You’ll want to take these pals with you wherever bub goes.
Suitable for babies 6 months and up. Surface washable.
Oh I should get these when she is ready to experiment with semi-solids, which probably isn’t too far off, by the end of the year. Been seeing some interesting blended fruits and foods from other parents’ blogs to introduce new favours to their babies.
These are absolutely adorable! Six pairs of cotton socks in lovely colours, and each pair has non-slip paw prints on the sole. Suitable for 0 to 12 months. They probably look so cute on her when we go out.
